Leah Beekman PhD, CCC-SLP

Leah is the founder and owner of Unless Therapy. She earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from William Paterson University in New Jersey and completed her doctorate at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. Leah is nationally certified and holds state certifications in California and Ohio.

With extensive therapy experience spanning early childhood through adulthood, Leah has worked with a wide range of populations, including individuals with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and AAC users. Her expertise lies in the area of ambiguous language learning and its influence on academic and social communication. She has a particular focus on social communication skills, including the impact of sarcasm on language learning during the critical middle school years.

Leah is deeply passionate about advocating for her clients and empowering them to become advocates for themselves. Outside of her professional work, she finds joy in sidewalk chalk art, is surprisingly good at double-dutch, and appreciates the most delightfully ridiculous jokes.
